Nashua, NH - A car crashed into a multi-family home in Nashua, rupturing a natural gas line and forcing the evacuation of 15 residents, according to Nashua Fire Rescue.

Firefighters responded to the crash after the vehicle left the roadway and struck the front corner of the home, shearing off the building's gas meter and causing a significant gas leak. The driver had exited the vehicle before crews arrived, and no one was trapped.

Firefighters evacuated the building and neighboring homes after detecting elevated gas levels inside and outside the structure. Crews established a water supply, deployed hose lines as a precaution, and ventilated the affected buildings while awaiting utility crews.

The gas leak was secured after Liberty Utilities shut off the damaged gas line, allowing residents to return to their homes about 90 minutes later
