For the second time in a week, the intersection of New Bridge Rd. and Woodbine St. in Bergenfield was the scene of a major accident.

At 5:45 PM on June 26th, according to police reports, a dump truck was involved in a collision on Woodbine St. that caused its gas pedal to become stuck. The truck continued on Woodbine St. before entering the New Bridge Rd. intersection at reportedly well over 40 mph. The truck went through the red light and hit multiple vehicles, toppled the traffic light and ended up on top of a Tesla, crushing the passenger’s side.

Bergenfield firefighters responded along with ambulance units from Bergenfield and Teaneck. One occupant required extrication. Five people were transported to Hackensack University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
