This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

LEMPSTER, N.H. — June 15 — A deep-seated brush fire that burned for two days and spanned roughly 2.75 acres was responded to by the Lempster Fire Department. Firefighters had to do prolonged suppression and overhaul operations in order to completely put out flames that were blazing 6 to 8 inches below the surface. The cause was still unknown.

Stoddard, Alstead, Gilsum, Acworth, Surry, Sullivan, Walpole, and Keene mutual assistance departments contributed manpower and equipment to the firefighting efforts. The reaction emphasized how crucial regional collaboration is in long-term wildland situations. In order to ensure that hidden hot spots were eliminated and lower the chance of the fire rekindling, a thorough overhaul and ongoing monitoring were necessary.
