Citrus, FL - Citrus County Fire Rescue quickly contained a structure fire after firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from a home and located the blaze inside an attached garage.

Crews completed primary and secondary searches, confirmed no occupants remained inside, and successfully contained the fire to the garage, preventing it from spreading into the rest of the home.

Investigators determined the fire was accidental and originated from an air-conditioning unit used to cool the garage.

The incident highlights how a rapid response by firefighters helped limit property damage and protect the remainder of the residence.
