Machinery fire in Richmond summons crews

RICHMOND,VA-On June 22 around 3:18 pm, Richmond firefighters were dispatched to the 600 block of Perdue Avenue for a fire alarm activation.

Upon arrival the call was upgraded to a structure fire.

Officials said heavy smoke was discovered in the industrial building and a small fire in a dryer.

Quick work by firefighters contained the fire to the dryer and some duct work.

The fire was marked under control at 3:45 pm.

Chesterfield Fire and EMS assisted as mutual aid with their Mobile Vent Unit.
