Gilsum Units Supported Mutual Aid Response in Keene

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Gilsum, N.H. — June 2 — As part of a mutual aid assignment for a structure fire, the Gilsum Volunteer Fire Department & Rescue Squad arrived in Keene. While Command 2 helped with water supply operations to support fire suppression efforts, Tanker 12T2 supplied water to firefighters working at the scene. Gilsum units cleared the area and went back to work in town after finishing their designated tasks.

During major catastrophes, mutual aid responses enable nearby agencies to pool staff, equipment, and resources, guaranteeing sufficient support throughout an occurrence. Water supply operations continue to be essential to the effectiveness of firegrounds, especially during prolonged occurrences. When communities need more emergency support, regular collaboration between regional departments enhances coordination and strengthens response capabilities.
