Following reports of a structure fire, Hancock Volunteer Fire Department members arrived in Ellsworth as mutual aid on June 19.
Eight members of Team Yellow, according to officials, helped with fireground operations, set up a water supply, ran two tankers in a water shuttle system, and supplied extra personnel during the event. Throughout the fire, a steady supply of water for suppression efforts was made possible by the concerted effort.
The homeowners who lost their house and likely their pets in the fire received condolences from department heads. Additionally, they acknowledged the mutual aid departments' excellent coordination in responding to the situation.
