Rangeley, ME - The Rangeley Fire Rescue responded to a reported wildland fire in Lang Township, where crews found a fast-moving vegetation fire spreading into wooded areas.
Firefighters launched an aggressive attack, deploying hoselines to contain the flames and prevent further spread. Due to the risk of rapid growth, mutual aid was requested from the Eustis Fire Department, Phillips Fire Department, Roxbury Fire Department, and Mexico Fire Department.
The fire was brought under control within about an hour, with crews remaining on scene for overhaul operations. No injuries were reported.
