SOUTH HAMPTON, NH - Several mutual aid organizations were needed to help South Hampton Fire-Rescue respond to a brush fire on an island in Tuxbury Pond, June 14th. Firefighters used boats to deliver personnel and equipment to the area because of the island's position. Access to the location and fire suppression efforts were aided by forestry resources and other departments. Firefighters worked to contain and stop the fire from spreading to nearby plants. While boat crews assisted with activities on the island, responders worked from several locations surrounding the pond. There were no reported injuries.
