Churchill, Allegheny County – June 19, 2022 – At 12:40pm on Father’s Day, fire crews were dispatched to the 800 block of Graham Boulevard for a reported house on fire. Crews quickly arrived and were told an elderly gentleman was still inside. A second alarm was requested as crews began to search the house for the victim. Crews were met with heavy fire conditions which made a search very difficult and forced firefighters to evacuate the building. Crews battled for over two hours before the fire was brought under control. Unfortunately, the elderly victim, a 70 year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The fire is now under investigation.
