Demarest, NJ - Firefighters responded to a reported structure fire on Yale Place after smoke was observed coming from the side of a residence.

Upon arrival, crews found that the home's electrical service had caught fire. Firefighters quickly investigated the interior of the residence to determine whether the fire had extended into the structure and confirmed that it had been contained to the exterior service area.

Mutual aid companies from the Southside group operated at the scene for less than an hour before the incident was brought under control and units returned to service.
