Members of the Boxford Fire Department arrived at the First Congregational Church on June 9th in response to complaints of smoke within the structure and a fire alarm going off.

Firefighters thoroughly investigated the church, according to officials, and found no active fire. Crews securely removed the facility and verified there was no danger to people or property after finishing their examination.

The Topsfield Fire Department, Middleton Fire Department, Georgetown Fire Department, and Atlantic Ambulance all offered mutual assistance coverage throughout the incident. While crews handled the call, department officials expressed gratitude to their mutual aid partners for providing the neighborhood with ongoing emergency coverage.
