Lightning-Triggered Brush Fire Grows to 6 Acres, Fully Contained

Hernando, FL - Hernando County Fire Rescue responded to a smoke investigation in the wooded area behind Aldi on Commercial Way, where crews located a brush fire that ultimately spread to approximately six acres.
Firefighters worked alongside the Florida Forest Service – Withlacoochee Forestry to contain the blaze, which was later determined to have been caused by a lightning strike.
No injuries were reported, and the fire has been fully contained.
