Paterson FD, Tour 3, under the command of Deputy Chief Jose Castro responded to a working structure fire in a 3 story occupied frame dwelling on Saturday June at approximately 4pm. The house located on a dead end street at the intersection of Coral and Liberty streets was fully involved upper floors on arrival. Units had tough time making entry initially and evacuation tones were sounded bringing everyone out of the building due to worsening conditions. Due to multiple vehicles parked around the fire building, entry was once again made to the 2nd floor below the fire floor so keys to vehicles could be retrieved and cars could be moved to allow access for fire apparatus. Ladder 1 was then pulled into the intersection to allow aerial access to the flames. The fire took several hours to contain. Fortunately there were no injuries reported. Mutual Aid covered city fire houses and the Passaic County Rehab Unit was on scene to provide cooling fans and drinks to the crews.
