Hernando, FL - Hernando County Fire Rescue is on scene of a wildfire on the Oak Hills Golf Course property at 10059 Northcliffe Blvd. The fire originated when a permitted burn using an Air Curtain Incinerator (ACI) escaped, igniting a large brush pile.
Crews are actively working to extinguish spot fires in the area, with the Florida Forest Service en route to assist.
Smoke conditions are expected to persist in the area until the fire is fully extinguished. Residents should remain aware of changing conditions.
Air Curtain Incinerators are designed to burn debris in contained pits using forced air to achieve high temperatures while minimizing smoke impact.
