Hernando, FL - Hernando County Fire Rescue responded to an RV fire in the 11000 block of Dempsey Road in Brooksville. Crews arrived to find a fully involved 30-foot RV with heavy brush nearby.

Firefighters brought the fire under control in about 20 minutes and prevented it from spreading to surrounding vegetation. The RV was a total loss.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was determined to be a candle.

HCFR reminds residents to never leave candles unattended and to ensure working smoke detectors are installed for early fire detection.
