Quick-Thinking Citizen Helps Contain Brush Fire Before Crews Arrive

Cape Coral, FL - Cape Coral firefighters recognized a local resident for his swift and decisive actions that helped contain a brush fire in the 4600 block of NW 33rd Terrace.
After spotting the fire, Eric Pasanen called 911, then took immediate action by loading a garden hose into his truck and responding to the scene. Using a nearby water connection, he was able to contain the fire to a small area until firefighters arrived and completed extinguishment.
In recognition of his efforts to protect life and property, Engine 7 presented Eric with a Community Recognition Coin.
