Fully Involved Vehicle Fire Sparks Quarter-Acre Brush Fire Along I-75

Charlotte, FL - Charlotte County Fire & EMS responded to a vehicle fire along northbound I-75 near mile marker 156, with reports of a vehicle burning in a wooded area.
Crews arrived to find a single vehicle fully involved with fire extending into surrounding vegetation. Firefighters extinguished both the vehicle fire and a brush fire that burned approximately a quarter acre.
One individual was evaluated on scene and declined transport. The vehicle incident is under investigation by FHP. The brush fire was determined to have been caused by the vehicle.
Responding units included Engine 7, Engine 6, Tanker 6, Rescue 32, and Battalion 1.
