Residential Fire Leaves Home Destroyed, Family Displaced

Escambia, FL - Escambia County Fire Rescue units responded to a residential structure fire in the 2800 block of Velor Road, where crews arrived to find an active fire in a single-story home.


Firefighters initiated a rapid and coordinated attack, bringing the fire under control and working to limit further damage. Despite their efforts, the home was deemed a total loss.


Two adult occupants were displaced as a result of the fire. Tragically, one dog did not survive.

The fire was determined to have been caused by faulty electrical wiring in the kitchen.


Assistance was provided by the Atmore Fire Department, and the American Red Cross is supporting the displaced occupants with temporary housing
