Escambia, FL - Escambia County Fire Rescue units responded to a residential structure fire in the 1000 block of West Cross Street, where crews arrived to find an active fire in a single-story home.

Firefighters quickly launched an aggressive interior attack, bringing the fire under control and preventing further spread. During operations, crews successfully rescued one individual from inside the home.

Escambia County EMS provided medical care on scene before transporting the individual to a hospital for further evaluation.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Florida Bureau of Fire, Arson and Investigation.

Assisting agencies included the Pensacola Fire Department and the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.
