Multi-Car MVA in Shirley Sends Multiple People to Hospital

SHIRLEY, NY - On May 12th at approximately 3:11 P.M., the Brookhaven Fire Department and Shirley Ambulance were toned out for a motor vehicle crash with reported entrapment at Victory Ave. and the William Floyd Parkway. Mastic Fire Department was also activated for the rescue truck to respond on the automatic mutual aid to the scene.
Brookhaven Chiefs Hudson Darrow (5-3-32) and Giuseppe Loiacono (5-3-32) responded to the scene and on arrival, found a multi-vehicle crash. It was quickly determined that no one was trapped in any of the vehicles.
Brookhaven Rescues 5-3-3 and 5-3-4, along with Mastic FD Rescue 5-12-10 responded in to the scene. Crews from the rescue trucks secured all the vehicles and cleaned up fluids using speedy dry. Shirley Ambulance, with assistance from Mastic and Mastic Beach Ambulance, treated and transported the patients to local hospitals.
The scene was turned over to Suffolk Police who remained on scene until the tow trucks arrived.
