Members of the Colesville Fire Company responded to a reported garage fire at around noon on May 14th, shortly after resolving another incident.

According to officials, a second alert was requested after a deputy from the Sussex County Sheriff's Office arrived first and confirmed that flames were visible. When firefighters arrived, they launched an intensive interior attack that swiftly put out the majority of the fire and stopped it from spreading.

A metal fire-rated door, according to department officials, was crucial in keeping the fire contained to the garage area and minimizing damage to the remainder of the building. The department stressed how crucial it is to install fire-rated doors correctly in order to restrict the spread of fire.

Additionally, Colesville firemen expressed gratitude to their mutual aid partners for their assistance on the scene.
