Monroe, CT - Monroe firefighters and police responded to an incident on Church Street after a large tree fell onto power lines, sparking a fire in the roadway.

Crews secured the scene until utility personnel were able to shut down power, allowing firefighters to safely extinguish remaining hot spots and overhaul the area. Operations continued until the scene was placed under control.
