Crews Perform Rapid Extrication at Rollover Crash
North Fayette, PA - North Fayette Township firefighters responded to a multi-vehicle accident involving a rollover at the Tonidale exit westbound on Route 22. While en route, reports indicated one occupant remained trapped with a serious hand injury, upgrading the incident to an entrapment.
Upon arrival, command confirmed one patient confined in the overturned vehicle. A firefighter who came upon the scene prior to dispatch was able to apply a tourniquet, providing critical early care.
Additional rescue units were quickly added to ensure adequate manpower as crews worked to stabilize the vehicle and gain access. Firefighters successfully completed the extrication within 23 minutes of the initial tourniquet application.
