Oakland, NJ - Oakland firefighters responded to a fire in deep vegetation along Hegenberger Road near the Oakland Airport, posing a potential threat for rapid spread due to fuel conditions and location.
Engine 23 and Engine 29 arrived on scene and quickly went to work, deploying multiple hose lines while also utilizing a deck gun to deliver large volumes of water. Crews coordinated their efforts to contain the fire’s forward progress and protect nearby areas.
Through an aggressive and efficient attack, firefighters were able to bring the incident under control in under 20 minutes, limiting damage and preventing further extension.
