Auburn, NY - Auburn Fire Department units responded to a reported porch fire on Gaylord Street, with Engine 4 arriving quickly to find an active fire extending along the exterior of the residence.

Crews immediately initiated fire attack, successfully containing the fire to the porch area and preventing extension into the home. As additional companies arrived, firefighters were advised that pets were still inside and worked quickly to safely rescue one dog and two cats.

The structure was ventilated and crews ensured the scene was secure before clearing. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
