Mutual Aid Crews Assisted at Poplar Ridge Barn Fire

Poplar Ridge, N.Y. — June 21 — During the evening, the Poplar Ridge Fire Department responded to a barn fire. To support fire suppression efforts, nearby departments offered mutual aid. Once the main body of fire was under control, firefighters collaborated to limit the fire, safeguard surrounding property, and finish overhaul operations. The cause of the fire was still being looked into, and no injuries were recorded.


The Poplar Ridge Fire Department, located at 2423 State Route 34B, continued to offer mutual aid and fire protection throughout southern Cayuga County. The response demonstrated the need of well-coordinated activities and solid alliances between nearby emergency services.
