NEWBURGH, NY - Retired and current members of the City of Newburgh Fire Department, along with friends, family, and City of Newburgh Police Officers, came to watch Assistant Fire Chief David Roach walk out for the final time. David was hired by the city on February 10, 2005. After 20 years of service, he walked out between two lines that were formed. Orange County firefighters’ bagpipes played as everyone stood at attention and saluted. At the end, David turned and saluted back. He thanked everyone for attending, then hugged members and friends one by one. Afterwards, David had pictures taken with his family and friends.
