CROYDON, N.H. — May 23rd — After crews were sent to a house on Lake Avenue due to concerns of smoke inside, the Croydon Fire Department helped with a residential smoke investigation in Sunapee. As part of a regional mutual aid assignment involving departments from Sunapee, New London, Springfield, and Newport, Croydon Tanker 2 responded. Additional mutual assistance services were requested after responding police officers noticed smoke and a foul odor coming from the two-story house.

As they looked for the cause, firefighters entered the house and verified that there was moderate smoke. Crews conducted a thorough examination and concluded that the smoke was caused by a problem with the home's HVAC system.
