Brookhaven FD & Shirley EMS Handle Motorcycle Crash With Injuries.

Shirley, N.Y. – On May 4th at about 2:12 PM the Brookhaven Fire Department was activated for a report of a vehicle crash in front of Shirley Feed located at 675 Montauk Hwy. Fire Rescue Dispatchers advised that Shirley Ambulance was also activated. The additional details were that a motorcycle was involved in the crash.


               1st Assistant Chief Giuseppe Loiacono {5-3-31} arrived on scene a short time after Activation. No one was trapped in the vehicle or ejected from the car or Motorcycle.   Captain John Hodge arrived on scene shortly after as did Rescue 4 {5-3-4} and Fire police 19 {5-3-19}. The crew from Rescue 4 went to work cleaning up the fluids and debris in the road while fire police blocked a nearby intersection and directed traffic safely around the scene for the safety of members operating. Shirley ambulance members treated the rider a prepared them to be transported to a local hospital.  All fire units were back in service in under a half hour and the scene was turned over to Suffolk County Police.
