Hegins Double Fatal House Fire

Hegins, PA (Schuylkill County) - A mother, Tawnya Bowman, 44-years-old, and her son Daniel, 4-years-old, lost their lives in a tragic fire on May 22nd. The County's 911 Center received a call around 10 a.m. for 951 East Main Street for a fire with possible entrapment. Hegins Valley Fire and Rescue Command was first on the scene and reported a fully involved dwelling. A working fire was dispatched along with eventual mutual aid from Dauphin County. Two grandparents and an uncle were able to get out of the dwelling safely. Companies remained on scene into the afternoon chasing hot spots. The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
