At 2:14 PM on May 20th, the Northvale Fire Department was dispatched to 404 Crest Drive in the borough. On arrival, heavy fire was showing from the A/D corner of a frame dwelling on both floors and across a front porch. A second alarm was sounded bringing additional units from several Bergen County and Rockland County, N.Y. departments.

Several lines were stretched and the roof was laddered. Within about thirty minutes the heavy fire was knocked down. Companies overhauled and the Arson Squad was requested for investigation. No injuries were reported. Units from Closter, Old Tappan, Harrington Park, Norwood, and Sparkill-Palisades assisted at the scene.
