PROVIDENCE, R.I. — May 7th — The Providence Fire Department reports that a fire at the Arbor Glen apartment complex on East Drive resulted in the displacement of eleven households. Responding from the department's headquarters at 325 Washington St., firefighters attempted to safely evacuate residents while containing the fire. The cause of the fire is still being looked into, according to officials.

While some inhabitants experienced severe damage and were temporarily displaced, others were able to return to their apartments. After the tragedy, the American Red Cross provided emergency housing and support services to impacted families. Additionally, the Providence Department of Recreation opened its facility to offer responding agencies and displaced individuals temporary refuge and support.
