South Foster Crews Assisted at Glocester Brush Fire

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

GLOCESTER, R.I. — May 20th — South Foster Volunteer Fire Co. members arrived in the Town of Glocester to support troops battling a challenging brush fire. While more people helped crews already on the scene, firefighters used the department's tanker to bolster the water supply. Tanker operations were crucial in ensuring a consistent water supply for suppression attempts because rural areas had restricted access to hydrants.

To control the fire and support prolonged activities, neighboring municipalities' mutual aid departments collaborated. In addition to praising the cooperation displayed by all responding agencies, department officials pointed out that collaboration between nearby departments is still crucial in the event of significant outdoor fire situations throughout the area.
