LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y. — 28th April — In the Village of Lake Success, the Manhasset-Lakeville Volunteer Fire Department was called to a reported overturned car collision on the Long Island Expressway involving several automobiles. One car was lying on its side after the incident when units from the department's ambulance division, Company 3 and Company 5, arrived.

Before firefighters and EMS personnel secured the site and assessed the individuals involved, the occupant of the overturned vehicle was able to safely self-extricate, according to officials. Two patients were taken to a nearby hospital by the Manhasset-Lakeville ambulance unit for additional care and assessment. While activities continued at the scene, emergency personnel also worked to preserve safety and control traffic along the busy route.
