South Hempstead Firefighters Respond to Car Fire Near Peninsula Boulevard Ramp

SOUTH HEMPSTEAD, NY - On the approach connecting the eastbound Southern State Parkway to the northbound Peninsula Boulevard, the South Hempstead Volunteer Fire Department responded to a confirmed automobile fire on April 26th. When firefighters arrived on scene, they discovered a fully involved car and activated Engine 742's hand line.
The fire was swiftly contained by crews, who also stopped it from spreading. Before firefighters arrived, every passenger safely got out of the car, and no injuries were reported.
