Vehicle Crashes Into Centerport Fire Station

On May 18, at around 2:19 in the morning, a car crashed into a structure near the intersection of Fort Salonga Road and Little Neck Road, prompting the Centerport Fire Department to respond.


Authorities added that after the accelerator allegedly became stuck, a northbound car collided with a tree on Centerport Road before heading into Fire Station 2. After the collision, the passenger was locked inside the car.


To get to the victim, firefighters lifted a parked car and cleared away debris. The conscious individual was removed by rescuers using Holmatro hydraulic rescue equipment, and Centerport EMS then took him to Huntington Hospital for assessment and care.


Members operated for more than an hour securing the vehicle and stabilizing the damaged building. Ambulance 265, Ambulance 2615, Engine 262, Heavy Rescue 266, and the Suffolk County Police Department also responded.
