EVERETT, MA - During the evening hours of May 10th, Everett Fire Alarm received multiple calls for a brush fire in the area of the Gateway Center Mall.
A large column of smoke was observed and first-due companies requested additional units to the scene to assist. The fire was in the grass between the mall and Revere Beach Parkway, a bust rush-hour road that needed to be shut down due to the fire.
Multiple ladder pipes and hand lines were used to attack the fire from multiple sides. A second-alarm was called, bringing in mutual aid from around the area, including Somerville and Cambridge.
