Fire Showing on Arrival at Merchantville Job

At approximately 1012 hours on May 19, 2026, the Merchantville Fire Department Task Force 12 was dispatched to 215 Woodlawn Avenue for the report of a dwelling on fire. The Camden County Fire Alarm Room received several calls reporting this fire. Merchantville Engine 12 arrived and had fire showing from a two story single family dwelling. Pennsauken Engine 1132 was right there with Merchantville FD and an interior attack was initiated. There was a report of a victim possibly trapped inside, but the searches proved negative. Westmont firefighters assisted with roof ventilation. Units from Maple Shade, Cherry Hill, Lenola, and Cinnaminson assisted with fireground operations. Hose lines were deployed, water supplies established, searches conducted, ventilation and overhaul were performed and the fire was placed under control in less than an hour.
