BUS FIRE SHUTS DOWN I-95, ALL PASSENGERS SAFE

Old Saybrook, CT - Old Saybrook Fire Department crews responded to a bus fire on I-95 Southbound between exits 67 and 68. Prior to the department’s arrival, all passengers safely evacuated the vehicle, avoiding any injuries.


Firefighters worked to bring the situation under control while managing the hazards associated with a vehicle fire on a major highway.


The incident caused significant traffic disruptions, impacting both northbound and southbound lanes of I-95 as well as Route 1.


Connecticut State Police and Old Saybrook Police assisted on scene, helping manage traffic and ensure the safety of motorists and responders.
