CONNEAUT LAKE, PA — April 18th — In the morning, members of Greenwood Fire & Rescue Dept. 40 responded to a reported car accident involving injuries. Responding teams were eventually informed that no persons were trapped, despite the first dispatch information suggesting possible entrapment. While CLAAS EMS professionals assessed and transferred one patient for medical attention, department units helped with traffic management.
While personnel worked at the incident, a number of firemen stayed at the station to continue assisting with a planned department breakfast. In order to maintain department operations, equipment upkeep, and public outreach initiatives all year long, volunteer departments in Pennsylvania frequently strike a balance between emergency responses, fundraising, and community events.
