This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS, PA — May 5th — A working garage fire on Main Street within the borough borders was responded to by members of the Cambridge Springs Vol. Fire Department. Due to insufficient daytime staffing, Chief 3 sought a second alarm while responding to the station after noticing a sizable smoke column. When Engine 3-1 arrived, there was a lot of fire, and firemen started fighting it right away.

After controlling the fire, firefighters stayed on the scene for nearly an hour, managing hot spots and overhaul. Mutual aid agencies helped contain damage and supported fireground efforts. Department personnel also assisted with a lift, a fall victim, and a car collision close to the station before going back to work.
