Cambridge Springs Units Responded to Mutual Aid Working Fire

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

VENANGO, PA — April 19th — The Cambridge Springs Vol. At a residential building fire, the fire department arrived to support the Venango Volunteer Fire Department. Reports of smoke and fire within the house prompted the arrival of an engine and rescue personnel. Firefighters extended an attack line to the second level, where they found a bedroom area with a lot of smoke. Firefighters discovered concealed fire extensions inside wall cavities made difficult by balloon-frame construction and a secondary false wall during operations.

In order to stop the fire from spreading further across the building, crews sought to contain it. The fire was contained to a small area, but the house suffered water and smoke damage. Although the cause is still being investigated, it is thought to be an electrical or appliance issue.
