BELLEVILLE, NJ — May 3rd — As a member of a regional tanker task force assisting with fire suppression efforts, Boonton Township Fire Department tanker 316 arrived in Belleville. Water supply operations for units operating on the scene were aided by crews from Morris, Somerset, and Passaic counties. During the incident, fifteen tankers were in operation to provide firemen with a constant supply of water.

When more water is required to help suppression efforts in large-scale incidents, tanker task groups are frequently utilized. To keep water flowing effectively to firefighters, departments coordinated tanker rotations, fill locations, and dump operations. In northern New Jersey, mutual aid actions involving several counties are still crucial to fire operations.
