JEFFERSON HILLS, PA - Between May 16th and May 18th, Jefferson Hills Fire Rescue personnel finished a demanding 72-hour period of training and emergency responses.

Along with over 65 firemen and 13 pieces of equipment, four members took part in 24 hours of hyper-realistic rescue training during the 24-hour ERS Blitz in Cranberry, according to officials. Advanced technical rescue and firefighting scenarios were included in the training.

Engine-1 helped with overhaul and cleanup operations when crews arrived at Whitehall for a working house fire with reported entrapment at 8:38 p.m. on May 17th. Firefighters were called to Homestead at 12:18 a.m. on May 18th due to three burning row houses. During the incident, crews established a water supply, performed overhaul and fire suppression, and worked on the Charlie side.

Despite the demanding schedule, firefighters later completed 2½ hours of engine company operations training at Station 2.
