Ledyard Arrives to Well Involved Home

On Tuesday, May 13th at 4:51 pm the Ledyard and Gales Ferry Fire Departments were dispatched to 225 Lambtown Road for a house fire. Station R took multiple calls and transmitted the working fire at 4:54 which added Mashantucket Engine 1, Sub Base Engine 62, Old Mystic Engine 61, Preston Tanker 12, North Stonington Tanker 13, Center Groton Tanker 72, Wequetequock Tanker 34, and American Ambulance Car Enterprise.


R-18 arrived at 5:01 reporting a 2.5 story wood frame residential house that was about 50% involved with their garage as an exposure and transmitted the second alarm. R1 then established command and reported two buildings involved. Engine 11 laid a supply line and stretched multiple attack lines. Tanker 14 nursed Engine 11 and left room for Poquonnock Bridge’s Truck 35 in the front.


Companies were on scene for hours fighting the fire and performing overhaul. Additional mutual aid responded from Laurel Hill Engine 62, East Great Plain ET-51, Oakdale Tanker 43, a Mystic Engine and New London FAST. The Ledyard Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
