Swearing-In Ceremony and Awards Dinner Held in Vails Gate

VAILS GATE, NY - The Vails Gate Fire Department held their annual Swearing-In and Awards Dinner at the Vails Gate Firehouse on Saturday, May 16th. Steve Sager, Chairman of the Fire Commissioners, served as master of ceremonies.


After welcoming everyone to the event, the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Officers for the coming year came forward and were sworn in by New Windsor Town Clerk Patricia Clarino.


Afterward, Department President and New Windsor Supervisor Stephen Bedetti gave a short speech about the new building, noting that the ribbon had been cut earlier in the day and thanked everyone who contributed to the firehouse project.


After dinner was served, awards were presented by Fire Chief John Rindt. The recipients included Junior Firefighter of the Year Cole Wilson, Firefighter of the Year Sal Gigante, and the Sean McQuire Award, presented to John Baldwin.


The Fire Commissioners also presented an award to the Vails Gate Fire Company for outstanding work on the building.

The award was received by President Stephen Bedetti.
