East Otto Firefighters Respond to Truck Fire

EAST OTTO, NY — May 7th — When a vehicle fire involving a truck carrying a trailer was reported, firefighters from the East Otto Fire Company rushed at Snake Run Road. When crews arrived, they discovered that the car was on fire. They promptly used suppression lines to confine the situation and stop the flames from spreading. Firefighters stayed on the scene to finish extinguishment procedures and check the trailer and truck for extensions.


During the response, no injuries were reported. Crews frequently have to handle traffic management, water supply, and scene safety while working in restricted access regions when dealing with rural roadway catastrophes such vehicle fires. Together, the responding staff managed to contain the situation and safely reopen the road after operations.
