This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

LOCK HAVEN, PA — April 18th — While responding to calls for Center County Station 1 during the night, Engine 6-1 from Citizens Hose Company No. 5 responded to a car accident with unknown injuries. While EMS professionals assessed the occupants involved in the collision, firefighters came to help with traffic control, scene safety, and vehicle stabilization. Before resuming service, crews also helped clear the road and inspected the cars for dangers.

In central Pennsylvania, move-up assignments and station coverage responses are frequently used to preserve emergency protection in the event that local departments are not available. While additional resources continued to be dedicated elsewhere, Engine 6-1's response helped guarantee ongoing coverage for the Centre County region.
