Mutual Aid Sent to Lincoln Building Fire

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

LEE, ME — May 2nd — Early on Saturday morning, the Lincoln Fire Department received assistance from the Lee Fire Rescue in two different emergency situations. While five department members went to a medical incident in Lincoln, Tanker 701 provided mutual aid to a second-alarm building fire on Lee Road. Ambulance 709 was originally sent to the medical event, according to officials, but it was canceled once Lee personnel arrived and took charge of patient care.

Leaders in the fire service pointed out that concurrent emergencies frequently force rural departments to split staff and equipment while still providing coverage for neighboring communities. Officials attributed the safe and effective handling of both occurrences to cooperation and coordination of mutual help.
